mahogany with ogee molded cornice above split column format, eight-day movement, brass works marked “S Thomas [eagle]”, original wooden face marked on back “Bowman(?)”, doors with original Native American and with eagle transfer prints with painted backings, with pendulum, key and weights, American, mid 19th century, 33 x 19 x 6 in. Scattered veneer losses including capitals and base molding, wooden face with some retouch, holes on face enlarged, scattered chips and separations to veneer throughout. Provenance: The Collection of Ella and Dennis Layne, Asheboro, North Carolina.
