classical with stenciled pediment with basket of fruit and flowers above hand painted wooden face with floral spandrels flanked by two stenciled gilt split columns above carved paw feet, reverse-painted panel, original paper label “Eli Terry, Made and Sold at Plymouth, Connecticut by Seth Thomas”, brass pendulum, weights, American, second quarter 19th century, mahogany, 30-1/2 x 17 x 5 in. Lacking one hand, other hand lacking tip, wooden face with some chips and losses and added pins at base, feet with chips and several loose elements, mostly original surface, reverse painting with extensive losses, chips, abrasions and minor losses throughout.
