American Empire carved mahogany veneer eight-day shelf clock having round columns with acanthus leaf capitals, gold painted dial with Arabic numerals, spandrels with gilt fan and scroll decorations over mirror, over reverse painted tablet depicting mansion and grounds, resting on claw feet, paper label inside for C. & L.C. Ives, Bristol, Connecticut, brass works, works believed to be original, 39″t., 17 ?”w., 6″d. Condition: veneer chipping, scratch on lower left spandrel, minor loss to painted tablet.
