Sevres-Style Glazed and Biscuit Porcelain Mantel Clock, fourth quarter 19th century, in the late Louis XVI style, featuring a Muse playing with a gilded brass poodle while riding in a swan chariot, the enamel dial signed “Bourret a Paris” (for Firminy Bourret, active ca. 1865-1900), the interior of the beau bleu-glazed plinth with pseudo-Sevres interlaced L’s in blue, h. 10-1/2″, w. 9″, d. 3-1/4″.
Condition report
In overall very good condition with normal wear. Scattered rubbing to the gilt along the cobalt porcelain and to the gilt-metal which shows some normal discoloration from age. Nicks around the keyhole on enamel face from use. Hairline crack also on face. The applied lobster is loose. Lacking bell, key and pendulum.
