English J. W. Benson triple fusee oak mantel clock with an impressive architectural case having a stepped cornice, crested with a brass “eagle and globe” terminal, resting over the round carved bezel surround. The porcelain dial with Roman chapters and three winding arbors, signed, “J. W. Benson 25 Old Bond Street, London.” Raised on a scrolled acanthus carved plinth atop brass hairy paw feet. The fusee spring driven musical movement playing bells on the quarters and gong on the hour. Stamped, “Benson London.” 31″H x 28″W x 12″D, Circa – 1900.
