French 1830 Ormolu Gilt Bronze Figural Clock. Early 19th century French marble and gilt bronze mounted figural clock. It is topped with a figure of Diana the Huntress flanked by a leopard and a turtle. The clock is supported on a hairy paw-footed base which stands on a rectangular, white marble plinth with compressed brass feet. The original silk string movement has been replaced with a 19th century key wind movement and the pendulum may be a recast of the original. The arrow in Diana’s hand has been soldered. The round small tack size buttons are replaced and only a few of the original enameled blue buttons are on the clock.
