EMPIRE GILT-BRONZE AND WHITE MARBLE MANTEL CLOCK, French, 19th century. The clock begins with an ormolu-mounted white marble pedestal base surmounted with a clock tower flanked by two standing female figures of gilt bronze, the white enamel dial with painted Arabic numerals and ornate gold filigree hands; the round, spring wound, 8-day brass movement strikes a single bell on the hour and the half; complete with pendulum and key; presently running. Height 21.5 inches.
