Federal giltwood banjo clock by Lemuel Curtis Concord, Mass., circa 1810-15
rope-twist presentation case retaining much of original gilt, painted tablets, iron dial and bezel glass. (Dial repainted, finial replaced)

*Note: Three features of this clock are indicative of the craftsmanship of Lemuel Curtis; the cutout at the top of the case to receive the movement, the cutout shape of the brass pendulum hanger and the shape of the brass pendulum tie-down.

Condition Report: Dial repainted, finial replaced. Some losses to paint of reverse-painted panel, and rubbing to gilt.
