Napoleon III Rosewood and Foliate Marquetry Wall Clock, third quarter 19th century, of octagonal form in the “Dutch” taste, the octagonal backplate overlain by an eight-point star centered by the engraved white brass dial with black Roman chapters, the dial cover of convex glass, the interior backplate touchmarked “Pomard”, the octagonal outer case fitted with a large sphere-and-ring hanger, dia. 16-1/2″. The clockmaker Pomard is listed as working in Paris from 1860 to 1870.
