Mahogany Patent Looking Glass Wall Clock by Joseph Ives, Bristol, Connecticut, c. 1820, with scroll top, brass urn finials, full-length door with figured maple trim flanking the reverse-painted glass framing 7 1/4 in. square painted iron dial, lower looking glass and painted tablet flanked by reeded columns, blue-painted interior, eight-day iron-plated movement with brass wheels, roller pinions, two iron weights and long pendulum, ht. 56 1/2 in.

Condition report

Condition: Dial relined and minor in-painting, object right scroll broken and repaired, object left scroll is a replacement, losses on reverse-painted tablets, putty refreshed on upper tablet, looking glass backboard in place with no apparent evidence of being removed, finials, pendulum and weights are period.
