Italy, c. 1900 wood, brass, enamel, mother of pearl , 12.25″w x 5.25″d x 28.5″h, Bugatti and Quarti, Bugatti’s son-in-law, collaborated on this Art Nouveau wall clock, which boldly illustrates both artist’s styles. Quarti is recognized for his pure Art Nouveau style rendered with sinewy lines which is countered by Bugatti’s symmetry of stylized insects inlaid in a rectilinear pattern.
