E. Howard No. 67 Oak Regulator Wall Clock, E. Howard and Company, Boston, c. 1890, with carved decoration, full length glazed door, 16 in. painted zinc astro dial inscribed E. Howard & Company, Boston, Mass., No. 3 eight day brass movement stamped E. Howard & Co., Boston with dead-beat escapement, maintaining power, Geneva stop, invar and cut glass pendulum bob with wooden rod, silvered beat scale and brass-cased weight, (imperfections), ht. 104 x wd. 36 1/2 x dp. 16 1/2 in.
Provenance: An engraved brass plate mounted below the door states: Presented by D.W. Hitchcock to the People’s National Bank, Marlboro, Mass., November 14th, 1892.
Condition report
Condition: object top right rear finial plinth gone, lacking all finials, later floor-standing base now removed with no impact to the original pediment, door lock repaired, case finish old and probably the first, dial appears to be undisturbed, all hands are original
