Anonymous Regency Mahogany Wall Clock, ca 1790-1810, ca 1810, with unmarked brass fusee driven movement and 14″ diameter silvered dial engraved, Tho.s Mudge/Willm. Dutton/ London. As the clock is certainly ca 1800-10, this cannot be correct, as Mudge died in the 1790’s, the engraving was added later, likely in England to an anonymous period clock. The dial has Roman chapter ring with replaced period style steel spade hands, with heavy cast and polished brass bezel/door, in drop mahogany case with lower door and side doors to access movement, in old likely original finish with good dark patina; 26″ high x 17.5″ wide x 7″ deep.
Thomas F. Mudge was in partnership with William Dutton from 1759-90 at 148 Fleet St. (See Clutton, Baille and Ilbert 1986)

Condition report

As above with one short piece of moulding missing from each side door; some cracks in wood, brass bevel door likely old replacement, and original dial, likely has newer engraving and not by Mudge. Not currently running.
