A rare thirty hour hooded wall clock movement and dial, circa 1740, the four pillar countwheel bell striking movement with 6 inch brass break-arch dial with matted centre and applied Roman numeral chapter ring with diamond half hour markers, the angles with mask and scroll cast spandrels, beneath circular boss signed ‘Isa’c Nickals, Wells’ to arch between Indian mask and scroll cast mounts. NB: Isaac Nickals is recorded in Baillie, G H ‘Watchmakers & Clockmakers of the World’ as working circa 1750.
