Wizard Coin-Op or Gambler’s Shelf Clock by Wm. M. White Co., the company that put the coin mechanisms in clocks bought cases from different companies and converted them to Gambler’s Clocks. All models appear to have been in a simple, black case. This example has a printed paper over tin dial with Roman on chapter ring and outer minute ring marked with ticks, bold every 5 minutes, stamped brass bezel, brass 8-day spring driven time and strike unmarked movement with both keys, rear with windowed key lock door and printed paper label Patent Applied For/The Progressive MFG. Co./Sole Manufacturer/Pana, Ill., ebonized case with Eastlake-style engraving, fluted and marbleized half columns with gold painted capitals and bases, coin drop on top left and payout cup on right side, 6.25″ x 13″ x 10″ high.
Condition report
Minor wear to dial and some crazing of finish on case, chips around base, currently running and paying. We do not guarantee working order of clocks.
