Shelf clock by Eli Terry and Sons, Plymouth, Connecticut. Pine with mahogany veneer pillar-and-scroll case with thirty-hour wood movement and two-weight driven. Surmounted with three wood finials, above painted wood dial with Arabic numerals with gilt scrollwork at corners. The door with reverse painting on glass panel with gilt border enclosing a landscape with two houses. Paper label inside of clock with inscription: ”Patent Clocks/ Invented by/ Eli Terry/ Made and Sold at Plymouth, Connecticut/ by/ E. Terry & Sons”. c.1820.
