Mahogany Transitional Shelf Clock by David Dutton, Mt. Vernon, New Hampshire, c. 1840, painted wooden dial with Arabic numerals, applied flat columns flanking the dial and lower painted tablet of a red-roofed cottage, printed maker’s label and thirty-hour wooden movement with two iron weights and pendulum, (losses to veneer, case in old surface, dial undisturbed), ht. 33 1/2 in.
