Hotchkiss & Benedict 2 Door Shelf Clock: the black and gold dial is signed, there is also a legible interior label. “A. Munger Patented Eight Day Brass Clocks” is on the label’s top. Weight driven with bell strike and brass seconds indicator formed as a hand with pointed finger. The case is mahogany and veneer and has flat half columns and carved wood splat. The movement is numbered 2855. A key is with it.
(The mirror plate looks like a replacement. There is no wallpaper on the case’s interior. There are extra holes in the backboard and horizontal separations. The door knobs are not original. The case wood looks nice, but has a couple of small reglued veneer pieces.)
37 3/4″ tall and running at this time
