Federal Birch Cased Shelf Clock, attributed to John Taber, Alfred or Saco, Maine, c. 1825, a scroll top with five plinths and turned finials top the full length door with glazed dial opening, central mahogany veneered panel and lower looking glass flanked by reeded columns, interior in original blue paint, all on ball feet housing the wooden Roman numeral dial with green leafage in the spandrels, original steel hands and eight-day, weight-powered timepiece with iron plates and brass wheelwork, imperfections), ht. 37 1/2 in.

Condition report

Condition: proper right side top return, proper left rear plinth and possible rear finials are replacements; I did not see a weight when I catalogued the clock; dial is untouched.
