Cincinnati, Ohio Shelf Clock by Blakeslee, bearing its original paper label. In a mahogany and poplar case with a scroll-cut crest, applied half columns, and paw feet. In an old finish, with its original stenciling on the columns and a period, reverse-painted tablet. The 30-hour wooden works have a gilt dial with Roman numerals and scrollwork. Ca 1830; 31″ high x 17.5″ wide x 5″ deep.
George Goodloe Harper Blakeslee (b. 1806) was the brother of clockmakers Marvin, Edward, and Garret Blakeslee.
