Romain/TE Rotterdam” (probably Dutch retailer) and surmounted by globe, leaves and berries, flanked by two seated classical women reading and writing, bronze dore mounts throughout, probably French, 19th century, 18 x 27-1/2 in. Traces of original dore surface, chip to marble molding above clock face, other chips and losses to marble on back, one lady lacking implement in right hand. Provenance: The Estate of the Late Colonel and Mrs. H.V. Bastin, Orlando, Florida.
