American Ansonia mahogany cased shelf clock the arched cornice with foliate scrolled cresting, flanked by gilt, flamed-tipped urn finials on molded cornice with gilt beaded decor. The ornate brass bezel enclosing the white porcelain dial with Roman chapters stamped, “Ansonia Clock Co. with trademark.” The 8-day movement with hour strike gong, flanked by Corinthian columns and ribbon-tied drapery below. All raised on a shaped molded plinth with fantastic carved dolphins to either side. 22.5″H x 27″W x 8″D, Circa – 1895-1905.
