Louis XVI Style Gilt Bronze Onyx and Porcelain Mounted Portico Mantel ClockCirca 1900 The onyx mounted portico base raised on two pairs of columnar porcelain mounts with gilt bronze capitals and bases, each columnar standard painted with a lady or a gentleman in Empire style costume, the drum shaped eight day repeater movement housed in an inner gilt and bevelled glass mounted case, fitted with a gilt bronze female mask pendulum and a repeater key, porcelain mounts signed “Poitereil”; dial stamped Haffluger Freres/Lucerne; movement marked with a French foundry mark.
