The case probably late 18th century, the dial and works possibly later, the circular enamel dial signed ”Julien Le Roy / A Paris”, with Arabic and Roman chapters within an oval waisted case surmounted with a pair of putti, with inset porcelain plaques to sides further decorated with putti, the reverse marked in old hand, with grape vines and ivy garlands to sides, on an oval plinth, with foliate-cast bun feet, 14” H x 14” W x 8” D, est:$2000/3000. Condition report
Very nicely cast. With heavy rubbing and dirt accumulation to surface overall. General marks, scratches and wear commensurate with age. Lacking back. Bezel sits somewhat unevenly. Dial in very good condition with minor chipped losses around right aperture. Porcelain plaques very nicely painted. With some marks and corrosion to porcelain on inside, not visible when set into case. Works possibly associated or later, as stated. Works appear complete. Working condition of clocks is unknown and not guaranteed.
