French, early 19th century, gilt bronze mounts, lyre-form frame with eagle heads holding floral festoon, dial marked “Ch. Le Roy/Paris” (Basile-Charles Le Roy, 1765-1839), cut glass rosettes encircling clock case, key wind, with key and pendulum, 24-3/4 in., repairs, cracks and chip to porcelain base at back, several ormolu mounts loose, drum slightly loose in frame Provenance: Collection of Mr. and Mrs. Levon C. Register, Franklin Springs, Georgia Basile-Charles Le Roy was master clockmaker to Napoleon and French nobility.
