A French porcelain inset gilt brass mantel clock, unsigned, late 19th century, the eight-day gong striking movement with rectangular porcelain dial with shaped gilt-outline Arabic numeral cartouche numerals above scene painted with Renaissance figures within gilt scrolls, the rectangular case with conforming panel inset domed upstand and turned finials above knopped columns to angles, on canted base with cavetto moulded foot, 31cm high.
