A French Regence style gilt metal mounted scarlet boulle mantel clock, late 19th century, the eight-day bell striking movement with white enamel Roman numeral cartouche inset gilt brass dial, the case with fruit filled urn finial to the concave upstand above mask centred shallow arch crest and bead panel beneath dial, on scroll feet, the whole veneered with red shell and brass marquetry, 31cm high.

Condition report

Movement appears to be in working condition but probably would benefit from a clean and overhaul. Dial has shallow chip to enamel of IIII numeral otherwise is in good original condition. Case has small shell veneer losses to top panel where urn finial is screwed into the case, otherwise is in good original condition with no apparent losses to the marquetry, however the brass is discoloured and there are signs of slight lifting to brass marquetry in places. Clock comes with pendulum and winding key.
