Attractive Swedish Carved White Alabaster and Antique-Gilded Brass Mantel Clock, second quarter 19th century, in the neoclassical taste, h. 20″, w. 9″, d. 6″.
Condition report
The brass clock exhibits considerable tarnish to the “drum” portion. The floral gilt-brass bezel and dial being brighter. Engraved numerals repainted. The alabaster volutes supporting clock are good with frontal chips and cracks to pedestal. Various losses to corners of cornice, the entablature and floral bouquet on the central body. Patera at sides good. Basal plinth with losses at upper corners and to the applied floral work at front. Most of the mentioned losses and cracks are visable in catalog photo. Yellowed overall. Needs a good cleaning to to bottom. We make no representation that any timepiece is in working order. Works and bell remain. Key lacking. Weight 13 pounds.
