Mechanical clock with a swinging pendulum housed inside of a four-footed, red-lacquered case with a front-opening glass door and glass side panels, decorated with gilded scrolling and foliage forms, and delicately-painted Oriental figural and landscape scenes on the top and on the interior surface of the back door, wood and metal hardware, early nineteenth century; inscribed on the back Palian Besancon and stamped on pendulum.
