French Aesthetic Movement Slate Mantel Clock, third quarter 19th century, movement by Etienne Maxant, Paris, rectangular case, top with trefoil-pierced metal gallery, the dial painted with blue jays and flanked by patinated metal engaged columns, with plaques of polychrome fish, birds and moths on gilt ground above and below dial, ht. 18 3/4 in.
