English Victorian China Cased Mantel Clock c1850

This is an unmarked English Victorian China Cased Shelf Clock dating from the mid to late-1800s. Everything on the clock is original with the exception of the movement, which at some point in its 150-year history was replaced with battery-run works. The gorgeous, hand painted china case is a deep, vibrant cobalt blue with lavish gold highlighting, and six panels of hand painted enameled floral and scenic design on the face, sides, and top. The floral designs are done in a rich violet, gold, green, and white.?The brass dial features Arabic numbers and a hinged glass face cover. The clock is in outstanding antique condition with very little wear to the gold, and no chips or cracks. The white enameled floral panels show subtle crazing. This beautiful antique clock measures approximately 11.5″H x 12″W.
