English Alabaster Mantel Clock, fourth quarter 19th century, retailed by C. and W. Freeman, of Portsea, of rectangular form with brass neoclassical mounts, the bronze dial with Roman numeral chapters, h. 13″, w. 11-1/2″, d. 6″.
Condition report
English Alabaster Mantel Clock: In “as found” condition. The top piece of marble is currently not attached to the clock. There are also two drill holes in this piece indicating it is missing some type of ornament which was once mounted to the top. The two cast female heads do not fit snug to the case. They interfere with the clock face and are probably not original to this clock. Some surface scratches. Lacking pendulum and winding key.
