Carved Black Forest Mantel Clock, German and French, late 19th century, with carved case with two fighting birds surmounting the dial with raised Roman chapters and central leafage, the bird below on a rocky outcrop amidst a woodland setting, a rear door opens to reveal the French eight-day time and strike movement with count wheel strike and pendulum, ht. 22 in.

Condition: Some carving losses, one major leaf from object right side, detached, but with the clock, movement in need of an overhaul.
