Black Marble Mantel Clock, France, late 19th century, with patinated seated philosopher leaning on a fluted classical column with gilt book, garlands and leafage over a 3 3/4 in. dia. enameled dial with Roman numerals and marked Dugard, applied gilt bead work, classical depictions on the facade, feet and 2 3/4 in. dia. eight-day time and strike movement with count-wheel and pendulum, ht. 20 in.
