Austrian Mantel Clock with Automata, movement/dial c. 1830, case modern, the mahogany case supported on four pillars, a mirrored back for the pendulum, lower drawer for the key, ball feet, all supporting a 6 1/2 in. dia. enameled chapter ring with Arabic numerals, central automata bust at twelve with eyes moving with the pendulum, two winged automaton figures which operate during the grande sonnerie function: object right figure raises a hammer and strikes the anvil on the hour, object left pumps a treadle while sharpening an arrow on a revolving stone, three lower enameled subsidiary dials including the day-of-the month in the center, month-of-the-year at 8 o’clock, day-of-the-week at 4, thirty-hour spring-powered movement with quarter-hour repeat and pendulum, ht. 22 1/4 in.
