American Classical Turned Giltwood and Carved Mahogany Mantel Clock, second quarter 19th century, the center section of the facade of mirrored glass, the lower glazed section with a later inset colored offset lithograph of an early 19th-century cityscape, retains the diminutive period steel key, brass and steel winding key and brass-clad leaf “moon” pendulum, the whole supported on paw feet, h. 36″, w. 17″, d. 6-1/2″.

Condition report

There is some wear and losses around the edge of the painted face. The lower door has a later paper print scene installed – not a reverse glass painting. The pins are gone from the hinges of this lower door. Minor rubs and imperfections from age and use. Weights and pendulum present. After further discussion, we do not feel this clock was made by Asa Munger as stated in the catalog description, as there is no signature or markings.
