American Classical Carved Mahogany and Eglomise Mantel Clock, second quarter 19th century, by R. Smith, New York, the case flanked by a pair of leaf-carved colonnettes, supported by paw feet, the eglomise door panel featuring a Greek Revival building, the interior with a partial R. Smith printed paper label, retaining the period weights and pendulum, h. 23-1/2″, w. 17″, d. 6″.
Condition report
American Classical Carved Mahogany and Eglomise Mantel Clock: In “as found” condition. The case has some veneer chips and small loss to the door frame. the lower reverse painted glass is broken. The interior is dirty. It has a wooden movement. Pendulum is present, but there is no winding key.
