A FRENCH LOUIS XVITH-STYLE GILT BRONZE MOUNTED PINK MARBLE MANTEL CLOCK

23-1/4 inches (59.1 cm) high

The white enamel dial with Arabic numerals, signed Emile Colin & Cie, Aaria, 29 Rue Sevign??, 2J, the lyre-shaped pink marble case surmounted by an urn filled with a gilt bronze floral bouquet, draped with beribboned garlands of roses held by two cherubs, each seated on a female bust springing from acanthus leaves, the dial topped with a crossed flaming torch and a quiver full of arrows, a mask amidst garlands of acanthus leaves below, on six spiral-fluted feet, raised on a stepped shaped plinth, further raised on a separate conforming platform

Condition Report: Overall in good condition.  Minor surface wear and oxidation to the gilt bronze.  Losses along a vein in the stone on the reverse.
