A French Empire ormolu mantel clock with moonphase, Arnout a Paris, early 19th century, the eight-day bell striking movement with outside countwheel and silk suspension, the two piece silvered Roman numeral dial with visible deadbeat escapement above rolling moonphase and signature Arnout a Paris to centre and with Breguet hands, the case with griffin cast handles to urn surmount above ivy entwined torch to frieze and Composite cast pilasters to front angles, on plinth base decorated with a laurel entwined baton to apron and block feet (gilding heavily rubbed), 56.5cm high. .
