A FRENCH BRASS MANTEL CLOCK, circa 1890, by S. Marti et Cie., retailed by Bailey, Banks & Biddle Co. The oval clock case with beveled glass panels (1/4 in. crack to upper right corner of back panel), the front and back door opening to the enamelled face with arabic numerals, the reverse showing the works. The movement stamped BAILEY, BANKS & BIDDLE CO. and S. Marti et Cie, MEDALILLE D’ARGENT, 1889 in a roundel. With original mercury pendulum and a later key, in working condition – 12 x 8 1/2 x 7 in.
