Circa 1800. 14 inch painted arch dial with moving moon phases and subsidiary center date hand. Beautiful country and fishing scene painting around the dial and between the moon phases, tropical birds to either side of the center. Named to N Jones, Bethesda, Wales. Figured mahogany case with cluster columns to sides of trunk and molding on hood. A truly sensational clock. Height 8 feet to top of detachable center gilt finial. The clock is reputedly in working order although not warranted. Minor wood loses to areas, generally very good.
