Here is a wonderful French Provincial Faux Bois Tall Case Clock, 19th c., the case with floral and bird painting, with a brass repousse frame around the enamel floral painted dial with an elaborate brass repousse pendulum, The case was made of pine with hand-painted bird and flowers. The clock movement works well. You can see on the front of the movement, at the top “L. Memain” for the name of the clockmaker and at the bottom “Melle” for the name of the town where was sold this clock. Melle is a small town of 3,600 inhabitants, in the west of France (North of Cognac). It is a seven days clock, chimes the hours (twice) and the half hour. Good condition.
