FINELY CARVED GRANDFATHER’S CLOCK. The engraved brass face is engraved “Alex Gordon, Dublin” and has applied cherubs and foliage in the spandrels. Brass works with calendar dial. Mahogany with old refinishing. Bracket feet, molded waist and a raised panel on the lower case. Arched top overlapping door. The hood features stop fluted Corinthian pilasters with a band of relief carved acanthus leaves. Broken arch crest with shell and high relief rosettes. Restorations and replacements to case, especially the base. Includes weights, pendulum, door key and wind up key. 95 1/2″h. overall.
