FINE SCOTTISH GRANDFATHER’S CLOCK. Well-executed original paint on the face depicts the Lady of the Lake in the arch and various authors in the spandrels. Signed “Wm. Young, Dundee”. Brass works with second hand and calendar dial. Mahogany with an old mellow finish. Bracket feet with inset panels on the lower case and door which have figured veneering. Freestanding pilasters on the hood with broken arch crest. Brass finials have eagles. Includes weights, wind up key and pendulum with old painted urn decoration. Old restorations to the case including replaced feet and the pendulum has soldered restoration. 84 1/4″h.
