An 18th century English Grandfather clock with Chinoisorie decoration. 8 day weight driven time and strike movement by “Edward Newton, Grantham” square Brass dial with engraved center, cast spandrels, subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture with worn, Silvered chapter ring. Mixed wood case with Original Chinoisorie decoration, sarcophagus top with turned wooden finials, square glazed hood door with incorporated columns, rectangular waist door above a simple molded base. In running order. Original decoration approx. 50% intact with some loss and older restoration, one door capitol replaced, some damage and older repair. 88″ high overall. ESTIMATE $2,000-3,000
