Condition report
Overall condition is good. Appears to retain original mechanism and hardware. Inside of top case reveals more recent supports that have been added under the main shelf supporting the mechanism. Four wooden columns flanking the top case have been reinforced into the structure at some point, though not recently. Beading between the upper case and the main body sustains some loss to a 4″ strip, but piece is available for restoration. Overall wear to the face of the clock. Glass to the top door is not original to the piece. Working condition is not known. Wood type is not known. Inscription reads “Reading”. Provenance is from a Midwestern art museum.
