having a domed griotte marble case flanked by figures of Venus crowning Cupid with a gilt wreath. The bronze engine turned dial with cast bezel and Roman numerals having indistinct marks, set above a cast medallion with symbols emblematic of Gods and Goddesses, atop a bronze socle. Raised on a stepped marble plinth with ormolu mounts and feet. The 8-day French clockwork marked “Cailly”. 37″ H x 22″ W x 10″ D, Circa – 1830 – 1850
