French Figural Silk Thread Mantle Clock. On top is a large figural bronze grouping with a man instructing a young child to play a mandolin; has a nice light brown patina and excellent form and detail. Ablack slate and bronze mounted base; applied roman numerals on the dial w/ fancy pierced hands. Typical round French silk thread movement signed “Lons – 1827”, count wheel striking mechanism striking on a single bell. Has 3 cracks in the back slate. 18″W x 28″H x 10″D.
