French figural mantle clock on a marble plinth, a gilt metal figure of a man seated beside a column holding a book on a stepped black marble plinth with Basque jaspe marble inserts and gilt line incised decorations surrounding the gilt bezel, the porcelain dial with Roman numerals and visible brocot escapement to the dial. The eight day movement with bell strike stamped: “J. Marti 798”. 19″H x 17″W x 6.5″D, Circa – 1870-1880.
