Chelsea Ship’s Clock with Figural Carved Mariner, made between 1925-1929 (Serial No. 171583). A solid brass clock in the form of a ship’s wheel made by the Chelsea Clock Co. and encased in a carved wooden figural statue of a bearded sea captain. Marked Abercrombie & Fitch New York and Chelsea Clock Co. Boston. Silvered dial with key wound 8-day time mechanism & sweep second hand; clock likely sold by Chelsea to a private jeweler or retailer for insertion in one of their cases; case is 13.5″ tall x 9″ across; clock mechanism is 4″ diameter.
